Description
Prince George is surrounded by large dairy farms. The expectant cows seem to be kept in specific fields that I think of as “birthing fields” so its a great way to watch sweet little newborn calves. It is interesting to watch for other critters and birds foraging in these fields consuming the afterbirth once the babies are delivered. Yesterday afternoon while watching the calves, I was entertained with a group of crows and ravens harassing an immature bald eagle. Along with swooping at the eagle making it bob and weave, every time the eagle put its head down to eat, one of the crows would run in and pull the eagle’s tail feathers! Talk about cheeky!!
